Warning: Documents misusing the name of 'Oliver & Hasani Limited'

Documents have been sent misusing the name of 'Oliver & Hasani Limited'.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been advised that documents have been sent from an individual claiming to be called ‘Jessica Zanotti Oliveria’ claiming to be a representative from a genuine firm of solicitors (see below).

The SRA understands that the documents were in relation to immigration bail and asylum.

The SRA has been advised that the email address provided was 'missjadvisoruk@gmail.com' and the telephone numbers '02079980030/07724022600' were also provided. The SRA has also been advised that address of the genuine firm of solicitors has also been provided (see below).

The SRA does not authorise or regulate an individual called 'Jessica Zanotti Oliveria'.

Any business or transaction through the above individual, email address or telephone numbers is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Oliver & Hasani Limited. Emails from the genuine firm use the domain '@oliverandhasani.co.uk'.

Its address is Cottrell House, Unit 2, 53 Wembley Hill Road, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 8BE. Its genuine telephone number is 02079980035 and its genuine email address uses the domain ‘@oliverandhasani.co.uk’.

The genuine firm of Oliver & Hasani Limited has confirmed that it does not employ an individual named 'Jessica Zanotti Oliveria' and does not have any connection to the documents referred to in the above alert.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
