Warning: Website claiming to be law firm called 'Ace Liberty'

A website is operating and claiming to be a law firm called ‘Ace Liberty’.

What is the scam?

We have been notified that a genuine firms' details are being misused.

The website https://ace-liberty.com/ is claiming to a be a law firm called 'Ace Liberty'.

The website provides the following telephone numbers '(+420)731 089 635), (+44) 7404 463 556) and an email of 'support@ace-liberty.com'

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm of solicitors called 'Ace Liberty'.

The website ace-liberty.com uses the following Head office details of 16 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6BX which is the address of an authorised and regulated law firm named Bracher Rawlins LLP.

Bracher Rawlins LLP has confirmed that it has no connection to the website ace-liberty.com or the firm Ace Liberty

Any business or transaction through 'Ace Liberty' or the above telephone number and email address is not undertaken by a solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Bracher Rawlins LLP. The head office is based at 16 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6BX. The telephone number is 02074049400 and the email domain ends with @bracherrawlins.co.uk. The website is at www.bracherrawlins.co.uk.  

The SRA does not register or regulate a firm called 'Ace Liberty'.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
