Emails and correspondence have been sent from 'Kaidsart LLP' and 'Xaidsart LLP' in relation to the supposed recovery of cryptocurrency funds.

What is the scam?

Emails and correspondence has been sent from 'Kaidsart LLP' and 'Xaidsart LLP' in relation to a supposed recovery of cryptocurrency funds.

The emails seen by the SRA from 'Kaidsart LLP' have been sent from the email address 'inquiries@kllp.uk' and provide the website address 'www.kllp.uk'. This website is currently not operating.

The email seen by the SRA from 'Xaidsart LLP' has been sent from the email address 'inquiries@xllp.eu' and provides the website address 'www.xllp.eu'. The website misuses a postal address occupied by genuine firms (see below).

The SRA does not authorise or regulate law firms by the name of 'Kaidsart LLP' or 'Xaidsart LLP'.

Any business or transaction through the above details is not undertaken by a firm or solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates law firms which operate from the address of One Castlepark, Tower Hill, Bristol, BS2 0JA. The genuine firms are believed to have no connection to the above website.  

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
